Each year Croham Road Baptist Church is delighted to share your generous christmas gi s with a range of charities. In December 2015, we were able to bless three charities, in this issue we share where your generosity went.
St Christopher’s is a adult hospice caring for patients from the age of 18 upwards. It was founded in 1967 by Dame Cicely Saunders who, in doing so, is said to have made an extraordinary contribution to alleviating human su ering. The hospice has been a centre of innovation and insight ever since.
This charity serves a diverse population of 1.5 million people in the London boroughs of Bromley, Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark. St Christopher’s is committed to ‘total care’ which means whatever is important to each individual matters to them. All of their specialist palliative care and family care services are provided free of charge. It costs over £19 million every year to deliver their services, £13m of which is funded entirely by charitable giving.
