Happy New Year!

This new year we have a new look magazine; we hope you like it. So new beginnings seems an appropriate theme for us to consider.

In the Bible there are several famous passages about newness.

In Revelation 21 verse 5 Jesus speaks and having already said “he will wipe every tear from their eyes” this is followed by “I am making everything new”. The words are very similar to those of Isaiah, uttered a good 700 to 800 years earlier and really apt for a new year: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isa 43:18-19).

What has happened in your life in the last 12 months? Were there hard times? Sad times? Times of failure? Now is the time to leave those things where they belong; in the past. God is doing a new thing. He specialises in making anew. He heals broken hearts. He o ers forgiveness and a fresh start. He refreshes the weary. He restores relationships. And so much more.

Most of all God o ers each of us a new life when we admit our need of him and come in repentant humility. Is there a part of your life in need of renewal? Do you need a complete new start? Then wait no longer. Come to the God of the new and simply ask him.
